At the January 13 City Council Meeting, City Council approved an update to the AMLI Treehouse mixed-use development located at the southwest corner of Midway Road and Beltway Drive. The amendment allows for adjustments to the site plan to accommodate the construction of two standalone retail buildings within the existing development.

The approved update does not change the overall vision or residential components of the project. The retail portion includes approximately 12,600 square feet of neighborhood-serving retail and restaurant space with outdoor patio areas. The amendment also allows for additional retail uses such as personal services and animal grooming for domestic pets, consistent with similar mixed-use developments and limited to the retail buildings only. The development will also dedicate public parkland and include pedestrian amenities, trail connections, landscaping, and public art.

The proposal was reviewed by the Addison Planning and Zoning Commission in December 2025 and recommended for approval. Town staff confirmed that the update complies with Town development regulations and aligns with the existing Planned Development. The amendment has no fiscal impact.
