Director of Neighborhood and Development Services Lesley Nyp shared an update on the Advance Addison Comprehensive Plan during the City Council’s February 3 Work Session. Advance Addison is a long-range planning effort that will guide the Town’s growth, development, and community character, with a focus on remaining vibrant, adaptable, and fiscally responsible. The plan reflects a two-year process of research, community engagement, and strategic visioning.

The Comprehensive Plan addresses land use, housing, mobility, economic development, and public spaces, while preserving Addison’s character and accommodating future growth. It includes policy recommendations to revitalize aging commercial areas, improve connectivity, expand housing options, and enhance public spaces. Designed to be actionable, the plan aligns with the Town’s strategic objectives and includes implementation tracking and regular updates. Following adoption, staff will begin implementation, including launching an online tracking website to support transparency and accountability.

City Council will consider adoption of the Advance Addison Comprehensive Plan at its regular meeting following a public hearing on Tuesday, February 10. The plan has been reviewed during multiple City Council Work Sessions and received unanimous approval from the Planning and Zoning Commission on October 21, 2025, with minor clarifying edits.

Additional information can be found on the project website, www.advanceaddison.com. Should you wish to view the meeting agenda or learn more about speaking during the February 10 public hearing, please visit the Town’s website.
