At its February 10 meeting, the City Council approved Advance Addison 2050, the Town’s updated Comprehensive Plan, marking the culmination of a two-year planning effort that will guide Addison’s growth and evolution for decades to come. The plan replaces the 2013 Comprehensive Plan while maintaining existing special area plans and establishes clear policy direction for land use, housing, transportation, economic development, and community facilities.

This milestone reflects an extensive, community-driven process that included research, public engagement, and strategic visioning. Thank you to the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee, the Planning and Zoning Commission, and the many residents and business owners who shared their time and feedback throughout the process. With adoption complete, staff will move into implementation, including the launch of an online tracking tool to ensure transparency and accountability as Advance Addison 2050 moves from vision to action.
