Police Headquarters Bond Election Set for May 2
View allFebruary 13, 2026
At its February 10 meeting, the Addison City Council voted to call a bond election to be held May 2 for a Police Headquarters facility. The election will ask voters to consider a capital project for the remodel of an existing building or the construction of a new building for an Addison Police facility in an amount not to exceed $55 million.
The action follows several months of review by a 14-member Bond Advisory Committee, comprised of Addison residents appointed by the City Council. The Committee toured comparable facilities across North Texas and met four times between October 2025 and January 2026 to evaluate options for addressing the Town’s aging Police and Courts facility. On January 13, the Committee recommended moving forward with a May 2026 bond election.
Addison’s current Police and Courts facility was built in 1984 and totals approximately 30,000 square feet. The building houses 75 employees from the Police Department and 5 employees from the Municipal Court. Town staff and the Bond Advisory Committee reviewed the facility’s space capacity, maintenance history, security features, and compliance with current ADA, fire, electrical, and storm shelter standards as part of their evaluation.
